Consultations – Fill in our Early Learning and Childcare survey
We want to hear views from parents and carers with children under primary school age to make sure we provide a high quality service that is responsive to the changing needs of our local communities.
We will be sharing the outcome of the survey and how we plan to use that information to improve our service.

For the purposes of this survey we define Early Learning & Childcare as the funded 1140 hours provided at Midlothian Council Early Learning and Childcare settings, partnership centres or childminders for all eligible 2-year-olds, 3 and 4-year-olds and deferred 5-year-olds.
The online survey asks for views of parents and carers on:
o Attendance at and choosing an Early Learning and Childcare settings
o The current delivery models available to access the funded entitlement to 1140 hours of Early Learning and Childcare.
o The application process and criteria for allocating places in local authority Early Learning and Childcare settings.
o The quality of the parents and carers and children’s Early Learning and Childcare experience.
o The demand for a deferred year of funded Early Learning and Childcare.
o Experience of accessing Additional Support for Learning for your child.
